What is the November 7 pro-abortion ballot initiative?

Ohioans for Reproductive Freedom (a group formed by ACLU of Ohio, Abortion Fund of Ohio, New Voices for Reproductive Justice, Ohio Women’s Alliance, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio, Preterm-Cleveland, Pro-Choice Ohio, and URGE) proposed an amendment to the Ohio Constitution for the November election which is ambiguously worded.

This bill (among other things) would remove all of Ohio’s existing abortion laws. It will:

Legalize abortion up to moment of birth
REMOVE PARENTAL CONSENT RIGHTS
REMOVE PENALTIES for those assisting in abortions and gender treatments
REMOVE Down Syndrome Protection Act, 24 hour waiting period, and more

Pro-Life Michigan representatives at Ohio’s Pro-Life Coalition gathering stated: Do everything you can NOW so when you wake up after the vote, you don’t wish you had done more.

Get educated
Contact your pastor with this information and ask him to address these issues with your church:
- Pulpit announcements
- Schedule a Hope Rising speaker
- Sunday School/Group/Large Group announcements
- Post bulletin inserts with information about the issues
- Send a church-wide informational email
- Post to Social Media
- Two weekends before each election, ask the pastor to remind people to vote and reiterate what’s at stake
