National Sanctity of Human Life Sunday

Since 1984, the third Sunday in January has been recognized as National Sanctity of Human Life (SOHL) Day when it was proclaimed by President Reagan in response to the legalization of abortion in 1973.  This is a time set aside each year to pause and remember the lives lost to abortion

Sadly, over 2 million Ohioans (or 56.6% of those voting) recently voted yes to a constitutional amendment that will add reproductive healthcare, including abortion, as a protected constitutional right in the state of Ohio. This is less than a year and a half after Roe v Wade was overturned.

It is a dark time, but hope is not lost. The darker the night, the more brightly the love of Christ can shine in that darkness. And that is what we intend to do – continue shining the light of Jesus to those considering abortion.

Our services are more critical now than ever before.

Since 1982, we’ve partnered with churches and individuals to help those in unplanned pregnancies, and over 15,000 women have chosen life for their unborn babies!  We must continue to be here for women and men in crisis.

From a recent Lifeway Research survey of those who attend church regularly, most indicated they hear a sermon on the sanctity of life less than once a year. The Bible is not silent about life and we must not be either.

We would be honored to come alongside your church to help share this vital message by providing any of the following free resources:

  • A trained speaker (to give a 6, 12 or 30-minute presentation)
  • Our new 4-minute Sanctity of Human Life video (watch below!)
  • Our new 3-minute Hope Rising video that shares who we are and what we do (watch below!)
  • A client testimony, in person or via video
  • Complimentary Sanctity of Human Life bulletin insert/flyers (hard copies or digital version)
