NATIONAL SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE SUNDAY

2022 was a year of rejoicing! We celebrated 40 years of ministry as well as the long-awaited overturn of Roe v. Wade.  Since 1984, the third Sunday in January has been recognized as National Sanctity of Human Life (SOHL) Day when it was proclaimed by President Reagan in response to the legalization of abortion in 1973.  This January would’ve been the 50th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, but instead we are celebrating its overturn!

Initial studies say in the two months following Roe’s reversal, 10,000 fewer abortions were performed.  We give thanks for the lives already saved and yet to be saved even as we grieve the loss of 60 million unborn babies over the last 49 years.

THE TRUTH

The truth is unexpected pregnancies are still happening.  Women are still seeking abortions.  The abortion pill is readily available online.  And abortions are on the rise in the state of Ohio.  21,813 abortions were performed in 2021, up 7% from the year before.

Since 1982, we’ve partnered with churches and individuals to help those in unplanned pregnancies, and over 15,000 women have chosen life for their unborn babies!  We must continue to be here for women and men in crisis.

JOIN US TO DEFEND LIFE!

From a recent Lifeway Research survey of those who attend church regularly, most indicated they hear a sermon on the sanctity of life less than once a year.  The Bible is not silent about life and we must not be either.

We would be honored to come alongside your church to help share this vital message by providing any of the following:

  • A trained speaker (to give a 5-35 minute presentation)
  • Our new 2-1/2 minute SOHL video (watch below!)
  • A client testimony, in person or via video
  • Complimentary SOHL flyers (hard copies or digital version)

For more information, to schedule a speaker at your church, or to request flyers (hard copies or a digital version), contact Jeni at jeni.newman@womenscenter.org (or 937-298-9998, ext. 1104) or Brian at brian.shaffer@womenscenter.org (or 937-298-9998, ext. 1103).
